Community perceptions about Covid-19 and its socio-economic effects in Rwanda

The covid-19 crisis is global but its socio-economic effects cannot be globally scrutinized. It deeply local and huge. research aimed at finding out assessing community perceptions about Covid-19 in Rwanda. would inspire policymakers to renovate measures policies that help rehabilitating all sectors general more affected groups particular. From 30 districts of Rwanda, 510 respondents have been sampled through convenience judgmental techniques. Findings revealed people misinterpret the pandemic which lowers their level compliance preventive measures. Stay home orders were not a fruitful time for families whereby 84% victims domestic sexual violence. However, with 16%, it was good family cohesion. Isolation social values frustration, disorganization dysfunctional, depression, anxiety are major Covid-19. Loss jobs, decreased salaries, none fines, incapacity pay bank loans, inability satisfy basic needs, government extra investment medical health care enormously Rwandan economy. Thus, there need strengthening sensitization spread, measures, short long-term consequences associated it. This shift population from wrong increase rate established so as free Rwanda return normal life situation.
